We learned about vegetables and grains that can be grown and eaten by astronauts during space travel. We planted carrots, lettuce, onions, garlic, beets, potatoes and observed that in order to grow, they need water, air, light, heat, nutrients and the right temperature.

We observed the positions of the stars in the constellations and did a STEM activity in which we sewed the constellations.

In the first activity, students made a spectroscope to look at different light source, using a tissue paper roll, a CD  removed from its foil, black paper, a cutter, and glue. They learn that white light can be broken down into many different colours of the rainbow. In the second activity, students made a rainbow on a plate using different colored candies and water and noticed that the colors combined. They understood that white light can be made from all the colors of the rainbow.
